PASSPORT AND VISA

Slovenia is a member of the European Union and belongs to the Schengen Area.

Please note that all travelers, except for those exempt from visa requirements, should apply for the corresponding visa at the local Slovenia Embassy or Consulate before leaving their country.

People in possession of a valid residence permit or a valid long-term visa issued by another Schengen Member State, should check the validity of the visa in order to avoid any inconvenience.

If an entry visa is required, please allow sufficient time for the procedure: submit your visa application in person 3 months before you travel to Slovenia. The process may take longer in certain countries, so we recommend that you contact the nearest Slovenian Embassy or Consulate to determine your personal case.
